The Purpose of the Therapeutic Recreation Department
To provide recreation programs that meet individual needs. We focus on the abilities of each resident, not the disabilities. We develop and implement active and passive programs. Therapeutic Recreation programs are developed for all residents, regardless of race , religion, financial or cultural differences. Residents receive encouragement and tender loving care.

Recreation Programs now offered at Park Manor
Physical Programs: Games, Fun & Fitness, Walking Programs, Travel Games, Old Time Dance
Religious Programs (In cooperation with Pastoral Care): Hymn Sing Program, Pastoral & Palliative Care Visits, Memorial Services, Bible Study, Religious Holiday Programs - Wednesday: Catholic & Anglican Church; Saturday: Seventh-day Adventist Services; Sunday: Community Church Services
Social Programs: Special Breakfasts, Luncheons, Supper Clubs, Teas, Social Hour, Picnics, Barbecues, Cafés, Theme and Holiday programs, Outings, Shopping Trips, Resident of the Month.
Intellectual Programs: Reading/Poetry, Library Program, Discussion groups, Bingo, Arts & Crafts, Word/Trivia Games, Movies, Table Games, Music Games, Woodworking, Pioneer-Days, Resident and Family Council.
Psychological Programs: Sing-a-longs, Make & Bake, Beauty Club, Concerts/Entertainment, Barber Shop, Treasure Chest, Glee Club, Gardening, Community Services, Work Projects, Intergenerational programs, Sensory Stimulation, One to One Visits, Pet Visits, Musical Lane.
